  • Why Cedar Hill?

Cedar Hill Animal Clinic – Your Independent Veterinarian in Westerville & New Albany

Choosing the right veterinary clinic for your pet can feel overwhelming. You want a veterinarian who provides expert medical care, understands your pet’s unique personality, and treats you like part of the family. At Cedar Hill Animal Clinic, we’re proud to be a private, independent, local, veteran- and woman-owned veterinary clinic serving Westerville, New Albany, and the surrounding Ohio communities.

Why Independent Veterinary Care Is Better

Picture

Unlike large corporate veterinary clinics, we are not bound by corporate policies, sales quotas, or treatment limitations. Our independence means our doctors have the freedom to practice gold-standard medicine and create customized care plans designed specifically for your pet — no “one-size-fits-all” protocols. Every medical decision is made right here, by the people who know and care for your pet, not by a corporate office hundreds of miles away.

Personalized, Local Pet Care

As a local vet, we value building long-term relationships with pets and their families. You’ll see familiar faces at every visit, and our low staff turnover means we truly get to know your pet’s health history, quirks, and needs. This continuity of care allows us to provide a level of personal attention corporate clinics simply can’t match.

  • Anxiety-reducing packages to help pets relax before appointments
  • Species-specific exam rooms designed for cats, dogs, and other pets
  • “Happy visits” to give your pet a positive association with the vet
  • A calm, welcoming environment tailored to reduce stress for both pets and owners

Testimonials:

"My Bellatrix, a pit bull terrier mix, was seen by Dr. Headlee for an ongoing condition she was having causing continuous UTIs, discomfort, and pain. Not only did she take the time to thoroughly exam my pup (as this was the first time they had met), but she did everything to make the situation more comfortable.
Bellatrix has some anxiety and fear when leaving her house, so vet visits have always been somewhat of a hassle in the past. I have never felt comfortable taking her to see a vet. Dr. Headlee was understanding and reassuring about the situation and was more than happy to take her on. After examining Bella's medical issues, Dr. Headlee took the time to explain, in layman's terms, a surgical route to fix the ongoing issue that would improve the quality of Bella's life and would help ensure that my dog was more comfortable. She was confident in the procedure, explained in detail exactly what she would be doing, and even showed me before/after pictures of the same procedure she had done on other dogs. Aside from all of this, Dr. Headlee helped to make accommodations for myself and Bella to help with the anxiety and fear issues to make the day of the surgery smooth for everyone. Needless to say, the surgery went well and I got Bella home to recover the same day. I received a couple phone calls to check up on her, as well. Two weeks later, it was time for the suture removal. When Bella saw Dr. Headlee entered the exam room and sit down, she immediately went over to her, leaned against her leg, and let a vet pet her. This was the moment I knew that vet visits no longer had to be something to dread. Dr. Headlee compassionately took the time to ensure not only myself, but my dog, was comfortable with her. She gave me one-on-one time, with information and advice regarding all aspects of my dog. As a pet parent, this is something I have been looking for in a veterinarian, with no luck, until now. I cannot thank Dr. Headlee enough for her time, professionalism, and compassion when caring for my dog. I am so grateful!!"

"We came to see you guys in November when I had got Lucian and he was sold to me gravely ill. He was 25 g when I first got him and dropped to 22 g while being sick. I weighed him today and he's now 38 grams! It doesn't seem much but he's getting to be a hefty boy. He wouldn't be thriving without you guys because he was quite literally days from death and I couldn't be more grateful thank you guys for always working with me and our schedule and making sure he got the best care!"
-Samantha Stultz

"I can not recommend Dr. Headlee and her staff enough. My cat was having some blood in her urine so they let me bring her in 10 minutes before close and saw her. They evaluated all options and made me aware of them, I chose medicine. Two weeks later she was still peeing blood so I took her back and they performed an x-ray. They found a bladder stone and proposed two options - surgery or a special diet. I chose surgery and they were able to get my cat in 2 days later and had the best price anywhere. I got a quote from a vet I used to go to and it was more than 2x what’s Cedar Hill estimated. I felt very comfortable leaving her with them the morning of surgery and was kept informed the whole day. I called probably 5-6 times that day alone as she stayed the night. I picked her up the next morning and was given very well written instructions for her care. I was able to communicate with Dr. Headlee all weekend, even after they had closed. Today my cat was “released” from her recovery cage to be back in action full time and she is already back to herself. I am moving to Hilliard soon but will be making the 25 minute drive to bring my cats back here. Thank you Dr. Headlee and staff...you are amazing!"

"I recently moved back to Columbus, and wanted to get my elderly dog established with a good Vet. I was referred to Cedar Hill by a friend who is also a Vet. (Always a good start) I wanted a Vet who would respect where I was at with my elderly pup. She has been through a lot in her 12 years with 4 major surgeries and wanted to really focus on her quality of life for the time (hopefully years) she'll have left with me. Dr. Johnson and Camden the Tech were very nice and respectful. Dr. Johnson was on board with her care moving forward. I've only had 1 visit, but everyone was very nice and feel comfortable that they will take good care of Zora. Peace of mind feeling your pet will be in good care is a welcomed relief! Happy to have landed there."
-Michelle Ricker

"We have been to many vets in the Westerville/New Albany area and this one is hands/paws down the best. Our big guy was treated so well. Dr. Headlee and everyone here provided such a comfortable and professional environment. My dog doesn't shy away when we come here and we have the comfort in knowing he's getting the best care possible. Definitely would recommend Cedar Hill to anyone."

"
I moved to Columbus with my senior cat and am so glad that I established care at Cedar Hill. They were very helpful, accommodating, patient, and understanding while treating some health issues that she faced in her final years. It is evident that each staff member loves animals and they are all so kind. Dr. Triance demonstrated true compassion while helping my best friend cross over the Rainbow Bridge and I will always be very grateful for that. I remember Dr. Headlee once mentioned that instead of running back into her carrier at the end of the visit, my cat just wanted to stay where she was happiest- in my lap. They all understood how much we loved each other. I wouldn’t have wanted her care to be anywhere else! Thank you."
