Kitten Visits

Give your new kitten the best start in life!
Although every kitten will need routine veterinary care during their first year, each of them will require an individualized plan. Our doctors and support staff are here to help you determine the best possible care plan for your new family member.
The First Year: During their first year, your kitten will require regular visits with their veterinarian. These visits are comprised of physical exams, vaccinations, and diagnostic testing – all of which allow us to keep tabs on your pet’s health as they grow and develop.
  • Physical Exams
A lifetime of wellness starts with your pet’s very first physical exam. Unlike adult cats, kittens require approximately 3-4 exams during their first 8-16 weeks. At those exams, your pet will receive important vaccines and assessments of their overall health.
  • Vaccines
Because the immune system is still developing, kittens must receive a series of properly staged vaccines including boosters. We tailor our vaccine recommendations based on your pet’s individual lifestyle using guidelines established by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA).
  • Diagnostic Testing
Kittens should have certain diagnostic tests over the course of their first year. Kittens should be tested for feline leukemia (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) during their first exam.
In addition to examining your new pet and providing them with vaccines and diagnostics, your veterinarian will discuss other services that could help them live a longer, healthier life, such as spaying and neutering, proper diet/nutrition, flea and tick prevention, and more.

How could a Wellness Plan benefit myself and my pet?
For most of us, pets are part of our families and we want them in our lives as long as possible. The most important and responsible thing we can do for them is to focus on preventative care. We understand it can be difficult to keep up with the cost associated with your pets care. That is why we are excited to be able to offer Wellness Plans to our clients and their pets!
Our wellness plans are designed to break up the cost of preventative care throughout a year of your pets life, while ensuring your pet is receiving the best care possible!
